1~3mm Gadolinium Oxide Gd2o3 High Purity Evaporation MaterialGadolinium oxide, also known as gadolinium trioxide, has the chemical formula Gd2O3. It is a white, tasteless, amorphous powder with a melting point of 2339 degrees. It does not dissolve in water, but dissolves in acid to form a corresponding salt. When exposed to air, it easily absorbs water and carbon dioxide from the air and deteriorates. It can react with ammonia to form a gadolinium hydrate precipitate. Used as a dopant for yttrium aluminum and yttrium iron garnet, a sensitizing fluorescent material in instruments, a nuclear reactor control material, a raw material for the production of metallic gadolinium, a magnetic bubble material, and an optical prism additive.
Used for X-ray intensifying screens and sensors;
Gadolinium oxide can also be used in neutron filters, neutron shielding, and neutron flaw detectors, among other applications. It can also be used as a catalyst in CO hydrogenation, as a nitrogen absorber in titanium production, and as a neutron absorber in other applications.
It is also used in dielectric ceramics and radiation-resistant alloys; gadolinium gallium garnet can be used in lasers and magnetic bubble memories.
